When should I begin wedding dress shopping?

To relieve the pressure of finding your perfect dress, it’s advisable to begin looking for your dream dress approximately 12-18 months in advance to your Wedding date.

Charlotte Elizabeth Bridal has a wide variety of bridal gowns, but without you feeling overwhelmed we carefully select a few dresses to start with on your appointment to explore what you do and don't like first!

Gowns can take upto 6-7 months to arrive to our boutique and then it is advisable to allow a further 8 weeks for alterations. Reason for advising brides to order their gown a year before their wedding date!

If you have less than 6 months before your ceremony, it may be possible we can obtain certain designer gowns much sooner. But we do have our new 'Ready to wear Collection' upstairs in our new Lux Lounge, with over 100 gowns at 50% which you could take home the very same day.

Do I need to make an Appointment?

Pre-booked Appointments in advance is required to offer full exclusivity of our boutique for every Bride, using our online booking system or give us a call to arrange! Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-in appointments.

How long is the appointment session?

Your Bridal appointment will be up-to 2 hours.

Once we have a general idea of the styles you prefer, we will select a variety of gowns which we feel will appeal yo you. Please be aware tat gowns do look different on their hangers and can vary how they look in image you may have seen online. Please be open to our recommendations as CEB is passionate to provide a very special journey to discover your dream dress!

What dress sizes do you have and what size should I order?

We have a variety of sample gowns in sizes 8 to 22 for you try on your appointment – But please do not worry! It is extremely normal for sample gowns to not fit perfectly. We will guide you how your very own perfect gown will look and feel like.

When ordering your gown, we will take your measurements and look against the designers size chart and agree with you with our expert advice what size is best to order. Our gowns can be ordered between sizes 0 - 32.

With Charlotte's seamstress experience, Charlotte is able to advise you honestly what size is best to order to avoid too many dress alteration costs.

Bridal sizing does vary slightly compared to standard dress sizes. And differ amongst the various designers too! So you need to be openminded and aware that you may need to go up a size or two.

Please don’t worry about the size label, this is very normal in bridal, we need to get the perfect fit for you and will always explain in detail on your appointment.

We fully appreciate that a bride needs to feel very comfortable, confident, relaxed, and extra-special during her bridal appointment. We provide honest styling advice to encourage brides to reveal a gown to flatter their body shape the most, together with recommending the perfect accessories, the whole bridal look comes together!

How many guests may I bring to the appointment?

You're welcome to come along on your own, or you may bring a maximum of 3 guests with you.

Bring those who fully support your vision, love and want you to be truly happy in your decision. Bringing too many people to your appointment can be very overwhelming, especially if you've never tried wedding dresses on before! Too many opinions can also make things confusing for you to truly find what you want to wear on your big day.

What do I wear to my appointment?

We would advise you to wear a pair of seam free nude underwear.

However, it's not essential, but most of our gowns do not require you to wear a bra thanks to the clever designs of boned/passed structure.

We can provide you with a selection of shoes to try on but if you have bought your shoes already, you are more than welcome to bring them to your appointment!

How do I pay for my gown?

We require a 50% Deposit at the point of ordering your gown and the remaining balance is due when the gown is collected from our boutique. As soon as your gown arrives at the boutique, we will call you to arrange your collection appointment.

We offer payment plans also, please contact us for further details.

When should I visit the seamstress?

CEB recommends having a consultation with one of our highly recommended seamstresses soon as you have collected your gown from the boutique.

They will be able to advise what alterations is needed and provide you with the price.

A date will be diarised 6-8 weeks before your wedding date for the work to be done on your gown. Then any subsequent fittings will follow should you require any slight alterations to ensure a perfect fit.

Macy & Alfie are our well-behaved miniature Dachshunds, who are also part of the CEB brand identity and a popular attraction within the boutique. Brides love to feature our adorable two characters in their 'Ys to the dress" photos opportunities! But, if you have concerns regarding dogs, please advise when booking your appointment. We are more than happy to keep them in our office.
